Question: How to lose an accent!?
i am 14, and want to go in the radio broadcasting bussiness when i am older!. i want to be on Radio 1 and want to the next girl version of Chris Moyles and i have been listening to them and they all talk really nice!.
i have a broad Barnsley Yorkshire accent any help please!?

Just practice using the accent you want every day for a couple of hours!. Imagine how the voice inside your head would sound with the new accent - and try to copy it when you talk!. Start thinking with your new accent as much as possible!. It will feel strange at first but eventually it will become second nature!. Before you know it you'll be using it most of the time!. :-)Www@Enter-QA@Com

Use a mirror!. Read a script, the paper or a novel and watch your mouth!. Over-enunciate so that your lips and the muscles around the mouth are really obvious!. then tone it down!. Keep at it and you'll see what I mean!. I was able to overcome a broad New England accent in the US with this technique - and became a wealthy, celebrity jock (well, all but the last two ;<)
also, try to emulate those announcers you hear - include TV and movie actors!. Gradually you'll see your accent diminish then disappear!.
