Most sudden onset electronic failures come about because of things that are very hard to diagnose!. The quality of the craftsmanship and parts that go into making the product affect it's ability to perform and for how long it might function!.

Dust in your home could be the culprit!. Dust on the circuit board can cause a short across two circuits similar to adding a wire!. Sometimes using a can of air spray cleaner will fix the problem!.

Cold solder joints are another likely problem!. These work for a while and then one day just stop!. When you troubleshoot each board you find a circuit that is open, and then resolder each point on the circuit to
close the circuit!. Cold solder joints look normal and if you don't have the equipment for more advanced testing you can see how this could be tedious!.

Add to the two scenarios above a few more possibilities and you can see why it costs so much to fix electronic equipment!. Often it's cheaper to scrap the thing and buy a new one!. And the warranty may suggest the manufacturer didn't expect the product to operate very long!.

You didn't say how old it is!. It may have died a natural death!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

Is it a Hello Kitty Stereo!?
It's a bit difficult to figure out what's wrong from what your brief description!.
Try removing all CD's and cassette's from the player, turning everything off!.
Now turn it back on, without a cassette or CD and see if the radio works!.

Here's some other points:
Have you got it set to AM or FM!?
Are you sure it's tuned to a station!?
Is the volume loud enough!?

Good luck!.
Take it back to the shop!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

Are you certain that the radio is not working, or is it possible that you set it somewhere where it cannot receive signal!?
Did you check to make sure that the antenna was not damaged!?Www@Enter-QA@Com
