Why am I getting SERIUS satellite radio in my car for free?!

Question: Why am I getting SERIUS satellite radio in my car for free!?
Hi, my husband and I got a used 2005 Jeep Liberty about a year and a half ago!. We've had SIRIUS satellite radio since the day we started driving it!. The previous owner had a subscription to it!. I'm not sure how this works, has this ever happend to anyone else!? We never purchased anything for it; could the previous owner still be paying for it!?Www@Enter-QA@Com

I've never heard of anything over a year for a trial subscription of either XM or Sirius!. My Magnum was new in '05 and I got a year!. Your Jeep is also a Chrysler product and that's what they were offering then!. One year!.

It's possible that there were some promotions for three years back in '05 I guess, but what is more likely is that the former owner is footing the bill without knowing it or noticing it on his credit card statements or, as the other member suggested, is on a family plan (but still paying more than he/she should)!.

Two other possibilities, Sirius has made a mistake and should have shut you off long ago, but somehow it slipped through the cracks; or the previous owner bought a lifetime subscription after his year ran out (but I'm pretty sure that would have transferred to a new car or home subscription when he/she sold the car)!.

Here's the character test: do you do the right thing and contact Sirius or the person from whom you bought the car to get it straightened out - or do you let it slide!?

If you let it slide, someone (either the previous owner or a big corporation) might be being cheated!. Does that matter to you!?

It troubles me that some of the other answers are saying wink-wink, you're getting away with something!. Depending on who you are, you might feel better if you just pay the $13/month, or cancel - and it's certainly the right thing to do!. And you know that - it's why you posted this question!.

Satellite radio subscriptions come free with many cars for up to 3 years!. (it's the same as how "OnStar" comes for free for a while) After the free period is over, it is hopped that the users will buy the service!.

I really doubt that you will wind up on the hook for it in any way!. Serius doesn't have your info, IF they have anyone's besiedes the dealerships, it's the original owners of the vehicle!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

The way sirius works is a monthly fee!. Its possible that he has a duration subscription longer than that OR he used a Sirius gift card that hasn't expired yet!. He is probably paying for it in some respect because each Sirius device you have on the acct you pay extra money for!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

The previous owner is probably still paying for it, because he could have the radio in his house as well!. But my dad got a car, and when he bought a new radio for it, he got a 6 month free trial!. I would contact the previous owner about this problem!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

Who cares it is free to you!. Maybe it was a one time purchase!.Www@Enter-QA@Com
