How do you remove battery corrosion from a radio and get it working?!

Question: How do you remove battery corrosion from a radio and get it working!?
I have a radio which is not working because the batteries had been left in it too long and they corroded the insides!. Is there any way to save this radio and get it working again!. There also appears to be some rust which I have been trying to get rid of with a brush!. Any suggestions from the electronic experts!?Www@Enter-QA@Com

Answers:
the batteries may have eaten the copper circuit board too!. You need to open it up, check for more damage!.

Battery companies such as Duracell and Rayovac will replace the device damaged by their battery!. You must include the battery and they will evaluate the damage!.

After you open the radio, examine for other damage, you need to make a solution of baking soda to neutralize the acid!. Paint the baking soda on the battery contacts and the damaged area of the board, wash off with alcohol!. Then using a very very fine file or sand paper, carefully remove the corrosion!. You may need to replace solder traces with wire!.

Good luck, even experienced bench tech will not always tackle these problems!.Www@Enter-QA@Com
