Why do you think it took the Department of Justice so long to approve the Sirius!

Question: Why do you think it took the Department of Justice so long to approve the Sirius/XM merger!?
also: How long do you think it will take the FCC to approve it now!?Www@Enter-QA@Com

Answers:
DoJ hasn't actually "approved" it!. My understanding is that they declined to object!. Hair splitting perhaps, but this allows them to come back should they not like how the deal goes down - and it took them that long to figure out this strategy (which is actually pretty clever)!. FTC was in there somewhere, too!. But no one's really said anything about them either!.

I personally think they both wanted to let the FCC hang themselves on this one, in case it turned into a stinker, both other agencies can say, "Not us!."

How long will FCC take!? Might as well ask when they're going to find Osama or when Fidel's going to die of natural causes!.

XM & Sirius agreed to extend the deadline again until May 30!. So perhaps by then we'll hear something and begin to make our channel selections!.

Because the FCC gets views from all sides before making a decision, the DOJ was just worried if it would take an unfair advantage and as DUH said, they didn't really vote!.!. meaning the FCC holds the key!.!. and many within broadcast radio want the merger to die a quick and painful deathWww@Enter-QA@Com
