I've had my Sirius for 2 years now (had it pro installed in my car) and I cannot live withouth it...

I have yet to hear a commercial on Sirius... the music stations do not play commercials at all.

I purchased the Sporster which is removable, and I have a system in my office (it's multi use and I can connect my Sirius or iPod to it) so I drive to work then pop in the receiver in my dock and grab it on the way out the door and put it back in my car... I absolutely am a huge fan-- and I was a BIG cynic for a while.. I thought paying for radio was absurd... Now I can't live without it...

well me and my bf bought one the other day at radio shack and was all excited about it, we had xm for a while but heard this was better and wanted to try it, i guess it all depends on what songs u like but we like rock, hiphop, rap and country and they had some good songs on but not really one good station,so u have to constantly switch, also they have tons of commericals even though its supposed to be comerical free
You can hook it up yourself its not to hard, but your on hold foreever to have some hindu guy tell you how to lol but no seriously you have to put a magnet on the outside of your car, the only issue is hiding the wiring well, but overall i dont think its worth your money, here soon were gonna switch back to xm

I had XM and I didn't like it at all. There were commercials and the same songs on back-to-back channels. I didn't even like about 80% of the channels. It said it was completely commercial free; that's a huge lie! I heard tons of commercials and it was really pissing me off. I unsubscribed to it and I am more satisfied with regular radio. I just carry a lot of cds with me or plug my iPod into the mp3 jack in my Camry. It's not worth it in my opinion. And I've heard that Sirius has a lot of commercials too. I was completely unsatisfied.

XM and Sirius are almost identical except for the sports they cover. They combined last year, so they are the same company.

I have installed hundreds of both, so it would be unfair for me to say it is easy. Hiding the antenna wire is a bit tricky. There are 3 main routes to run the antenna wire.
1) On the back of the trunk lid. Run the wire back into the trunk, around the side of the back seat, into the door trim, down the driver's side kick panel, up into the dash and to the radio.
2) On the roof right behind the winshield. Hide the wire behind the winshield weatherstrip down the side, back into the car either through the fender, or under the weatherstripping around the door.
3) In the center of the front or rear dash. On some cars, the trunk is not metal and there is no play in the winshield weatherstripping (mercedes for example). In this case you can mound them on the front or rear deck as long as there is metal under the antenna. The antenna needs 6" of metal on 3 out of 4 sides for best reception.

It is not that hard, it just takes time and patience, and a little common sense.
