Does anyone remember a childrens radio station in the midwest called "Radio!
Question: Yes I do remember it. Actually it was called Radio "Ahhhs" A lot of people called it radio Oz, so you are not alone.
While I was a Program Director for a small Western Pennsylvania station I picked up Radio Ahhhs to air in some open weekend shifts that we had. It was not just a local program... It was actually a national network that stations could pick up, and air on a barter basis in trade for commercial airtime on the individual stations.
Actually it was not that bad as far as content goes. I feel that if was much better than Radio Disney (Which in my opinion is nothing more than a 24 hour a day commercial for Disney.) Sadly, the "Wall-Mart" of radio burst on the scene with radio Disney and simply crushed Radio Ahhs. (Can you tell I am not a big Disney/ABC radio fan?)
Well, hopefully I shed a little light on your question. If you ever have any other questions about radio, you can feel free to e mail me.
Take care!
