Why is commercial FM radio so horrible?!

Question: Face it we are listening to songs 30 years old and 40! That would be like a 70's kid turning on the radio and having to listen to the Andrew Sisters 24/7? What happened? How many times can I hear "Stairway to Heaven" before I go insane. Another Brick in the Wall Pt 2, just is not COOL anymore.

Radio is a business. It survives to sell advertising to make money. Some program director somewhere has created this format thinking they will get lots of people that like it. I would say the demo would be adults 35+ and you would sell grocery stores, cars, banks, department stores, etc advertising. If the Arbitron numbers are low, then the format will change. That is why you hear so many changes in radio. I would suggest you listen on the internet to Virgin Radio in London. It's a great station and they have very little advertising and have none of the FCC rules the U.S. does. Try it: www.virginradio.co.uk

Get Sirius, it cost $12.99 a month per subscription, I have it and love it.

So... then BUY a Satellite radio.. XM or Sirius... and the PAY for your programming AND IT'S A WORLDS DIFFERENCE... I can't STAND to listen to terrestial radio since I got Sirius.

Then stop listening to Oldies and Classic Rock stations. Simple as that.
