Who else in Atlanta is mad that 99x decided to sell out and not broadcast on the!

Question: I am so mad about this.

Ok they were my favorite radio station. I enjoyed listining to 99x in the mornings, and on my way to and from work.

What they did, is they completely sold out to Q100. Now 99x is a online only radio station.

Who gives a flying F*** that your broadcasting in HD. I cant drive with my computer and watch you.

Who else thinks this has got to be one of the most retarded ideas ever?

99X didn't decide to "sell out"

Big corporations make decisions (the same company Cumulus Media owns both 99.7 and 100.5 ) and there was more money to be made by moving the top 40 station to a higher power tower than keeping 99x there considering Project 96.1 was starting to gain in numbers from what I've read.

http://radioinsight.com/headlines/rock-1...

The 100.5 frequency became a mainstream rocker playing apparently classic and new rock in the vein of 96.1 before it's flip to project

99x is a HD2 station to please fans like yourself pissed that it's gone (meaning a purchase of a HD radio)

BTW 96.1 is playing alternative on their HD2 signal according to published reports

There are several reasons for a format swap. I believe the main reason, why so many rock stations are going away, is the advertising demographic for alternative rock (usually male 18-49) is not making money for the station (males in this demographic are usually not supportive of commercials and their messages).
When the ad's are not being sold because the listener is not (overall) supporting the advertiser, the commercials dry up.
Welcome to corporate, stockholder-controlled radio.

HD may not be a bad option to consider, since the car conversion kit costs around the same as a satellite receiver, plus there are no subscription fees.
