I have a Yamaha receiver with built in xm radio capabilities. Can I hook up a si!

Question: I prefer sirius over xm. Instead of hooking up a sirius adapter could I use a sirius one instead?

You should be able to.

If you are thinking you will then be able to receive Sirius content - no, of course not. Each service requires a different subscription and the equipment is specific to the service - for the time being.

That may change when and if the merger of the two companies is approved.

If you just want to see if the Sirius antenna will work with your XM receiver and bring in the XM signal (and you are an actual XM subscriber) - give it a try, provided the jacks are the same. They are probably not, but I don't think you could hurt anything if they do match and, who knows, it might work.
