KROQ (Los Angeles) and the Red Hot Chili Peppers?!

Question: One of my co-workers listens to this station all day long and I'm not mad 'cause I like RHCP but I took a survey in my mind (more than once) and I counted one song by RHCP every hour.

And it's usually everything from BloodSugarSexMagic to Stadium Arcadium but nothing from the One Hot Minute CD (with Dave Navarro, which from what I understand is a mutual near-hate situation). Do they (or one of them) have stock or something in KROQ because in the 20-plus yrs I've been listening, they've never had one artist on that much heavy rotation (unless they died, coming to town or something like that).

believe it or not, if you call the request line and tell them things like "you play the red hot chili peppers" too much, you may make a difference

the request line people do take notes, and if they see lots of similar comments they will change stuff up

but no, the RHCP do not own KROQ ... KROQ is owned by CBS Radio

for what it's worth, the only musician (off the top of my head) that owns a radio station in LA is Stevie Wonder (he owns KJLH 102.3)
