Is Steve Wright a legend is his own mind ?!

Question: Been listening to Radio 2 for the last year, the last time i regularly listened was to Radio 1 in the 80's. When it comes to Steve Wright's show, the so called " big one ", i almost think i've been transported back to the 80's. What a terrible DJ.
He talks over songs and his co-presenters, sings over the ends of songs ( that's if we make it to the end of a song ! ). He hardly ever tells you the name of the artist or song. And seems to spend most of the show reading out all the letters about how great his show is ( of course, he doesn't get any negative ones ? ).
Wouldn't he be better off on a talk show, as he seems to love the sound of his voice so much ?. I love it when he goes on holiday, it's a break for us all !!!.
What do you think ?

I agree with you 100%. The man is an idiot and seems to love the sound of his own voice. I find him very irritating and switch off as soon as his programme comes on air. He seems to have a language all of his own. But what really upset me was 3 years ago when I asked for a dedication on his Sunday morning programme for my wife who had just been discharged from hospital after a 6 month stay for treatment for cancer. ( She has since sadly passed away) I emailed him 3 times but never got the song played. Then after she died, I emailed him again but they never had the decency to reply.

Steve Who????

He seems to think so.....

I agree 100% with what you are saying. Yes he loves the sound of his dolcit tones, perhaps a joint talk show with Richard and Judy would be good

What Mind does he have one?????

i think you will find they all talk over the end of songs its because they have to to make sure no one is able to record the whole song uninterrupted..

Steve IS a great DJ I find him amusing frank and to the point his co presenters are well chosen and the show is just excellent always.

If you dont like it I guess all you need do is twiddle the dial

If he's so annoying to you listen to something else fool

Hi, suggestion: make sure you mention you are speaking of The BBC or UK Radio when asking a question. Most of the Americans on this board have no clue outside of their own cities never mind out of the US ;<)

I've heard Wright during my travels and he's not that bad. I suspect he's more popular with the older folks. Denying people from recording is not why he talks over the beginning and end of songs. He's insuring the flow and letting the audience know who th artist and song is (at least that's why jox in the US do it).

As you can see by your other answers some like some don't. That's why there's chocolate AND vanilla - and a dial!
-a guy named duh

oh yes when others pick the station you have to tune in to it's a downer,
the guy is fare worse then all the true stuff you said in real life
