Is it illegal to record music from online radio stations?!

Most of them are copyrighted. It is illegal if you make copies for profit.
There's actually software to do that, they take the broadcast from stations around the world, pick what you want, and turn it into an mp3. Pretty handy for overseas concerts, but I don't know what the quality of it is. I saw it in Circuit City last night...40 dollar a year subscription.
Well theoreticaly it is illegal to record anything without paying for it, BUT if the problem was that big then there would not be any music online, there would not be any radio etc, besides it would be very hard to sell stuff recorded off the radio because often there is talking over the very ond of tracks etc.
It would also depend onthe laws of your country, your country may have specific laws regarding the subject so it might be worth looking into that.
technically you can use a recording for roughly one day then you have to destroy it or pay for it has always been the rule of thumb I've heard.
On recording stations, I beleive web based or air based it falls under the personal use parts of copyright laws
Technically, it IS illegal to record anything (no matter what the source is...radio, television, online, etc.) unless it is of "public domain" whereas the copyrights expire, which in the U.S. is 70 years after an artists' death or anything before 1923.
Of course people DO record things online anyway. If you're going to do that, keep it to yourself...don't upload it on a peer-to-peer filesharing program like Limewire.
