Do you tip your?!

Question: Postman,Binman,Window Cleaner

Answers: Postman,Binman,Window Cleaner

Postman... just once in a month.
Binman.... No
WIndow Cleaner... just a little tip

You SHOULD tip your waiter, your bell boy or your butler!

I'm a house keeper and I received one tip and that was at Christmas...and the person who gave it to me was someone who I least expected. It was nice to know someone appreciated my hard work.

yes postman Christmas
binman get a bottle each
window cleaner gets f==k all he put his ladder through the window. @@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@

Postman NO as it seems to be a different one everyday.
Binman NO as I do most of the work for them by leaving my bins at the side of the road and then retrieving them from about 10ft from where I originally left them
Window Cleaner NO as I do my own. I live in a bungalow so it's easy

You can still get a window cleaner!!! Have never seen one in the 4 years since I moved to Essex.
I always tip for good service in hotels and restraunts etc but I do not do this annual Christmas tip thing for service providers because most of the time it seems it is different person/people each week.

NO, unless they do something extra for you...

Nope..paid by the postage good money in the states to be there.. plus it ain't the same one (and I've got to go to the curb to get my mail)

Binman is paid hansomly by taxes and I have to roll to curb

Clean my own windows

So in America, land of the free means doing it yourself and doing it with no tips

As a mechanic however, I've been tipped after fixing something on a car for free as mechanics work on a commission based system in the US

no

We give our Postman a small gift, a box of cookies or candy just at the end of the year. I don't think the post office lets you give them money.

Binman - does that mean garbage man? We do the same - gift - box of cookies type thing, just at the end of the year. He does favors for us such as letting us throw away large objects that don't fit in the bin. I don't know that it is appropriate to give money, but he seems to appreciate the cookies.

I don't have a window cleaner, but if you do have this person and pay them on a regular basis, it seems appropriate to tip him (just like you would a house cleaner or any other domestic help) at the end of the year. I don't know how much but I've heard it said 20-30% of one day's work or something like that.

I know some people give wine/alcohol, but I try to stay away from that. You never know if someone is an alcoholic or has a problem with drinking and I would hate to inadvertently be contributing to that problem.

We don't have a postman anymore because we use the main post office, but we used to. We tip our servers when we go out 15 to 20% and all our favorites on their birthdays and Christmas.

^_^

we do always at christmas

Yes always.

binmen never got a tip this year as they refused to empty bins over the xmas hoildays,

we have a dog so the window clean refuses to do the windos round back so we do not bother and my husband does them for free lol

and yes the postman is a lovely man he got a little something

regards x kitti x

No, I don't have a regular postman, I clean my own windows & the binmen leave more rubbish on the ground than they collect.
