Don't you wish that radio show callers could just cut to the chase?!
Question: There's only so much time a station has to take in calls and questions. Nothing peeves me more than a radio show caller who makes long introduction such as "hi, I listen to your show all the time. I wanna give a shout out to my mom."
It should be more like this:
Host: We have John in New York.
John: Should we pull the troops out of Iraq by 2009?
--no hellos or 1-2 sentence intros.
What can radio do to educate it's listeners on talk radio etiquette?

Yea I hate that I'm a long time listner first time caller crap. Oh, and lets not forget the 'i've been listening for years" bit. Look. Radio programs run on a schedule. Time is a very vital aspect of talk radio. Besides, its curteous to let other people get a chance to call in and express their opinions as well.
I hate to say it in this fashion but Howard Stern handles it best.....hangs up and goes to the next caller and if THAT person doesn't get it, hangs up and goes to the next caller.
hahahah yeah people can get annoying when they can't make up their mind and just keep saying, how are you. If you ever listen to tom leykis he likes to mess with callers who say stupid stuff because they are nervous and don't know what to say. he will stay quiet and the person will say "are you there?" and he will tell them "no i left the room". some people shouldn't be allowed to call into radio shows
