XM or Sirius Radio? Which has better music?!
Question: I dont care to listen to anything else except the Alternative and Rap. I'm 21 so which one is prefered better by people my age.

Get Satellite Radio, HD is still terrestrial radio half the time doesn't work. Get XM Satellite radio 69 100% Commercial Free Music channels. Great quality programming. Sirius Has repeats in music, too many djs talking.. not worth the trouble.
Consider This, If you love Music go with XM, they have a 4 Million Song Library. Sirius only has a 2 Million Song Library.

In my opinion, XM is better than Sirius Satellite Radio.
Sorry scotty the numbers came out today Howard Stern on Sirius has more listeners at one time than XM has listeners total. Mind boggling since XM actually has more radios out there. Doesnt matter anyway they are going to merge together because XM knows that Sirius is going to put them out of business if they don't
Mike, Its not so much the music that separates them. Its the celebrities that are on them (i.e. Howard Stern - Sirius).
I've had both -- I bought XM, and Sirius was installed in a car I bought. Their really isn't that much difference in the music; it's in the extras. Sirius has Stern, I'm sure that XM has someone compatible. (Not a Stern fan, so I don't know)
When I was choosing, I picked XM because they have Major League Baseball and SEC College Football. So the music isn't the big difference, it's what other programming is available.
It depends on what you like. Yes, they have channels that look similar on paper, but each company has a very different programming philosophy. If you listen to Sirius you will hear more hits, the songs you are familiar with. XM will play these but mix in a lot of album cuts and more obscure songs. I am a Sirius fan (Sirius in my car, XM in my husband's car, so I've heard both.) Music is good on both, but like others have said, its the extras. I'm a Stern fan, so I got Sirius when he moved to satellite. Hopefully the two will merge, and we can have the best of both worlds!
If you just want music, they are very smilar in terms of what they play and the different stations. But where they start to differ is other programming. Like Sirius has NFL, Stern, Playboy, etc. XM has Oprah, NHL, MLB, etc
On both of their websites you can get a free online trial and check both out for free for a frew days and make your decision from there! Good luck!
