Question on radio contest stunt?!

Question on radio contest stunt?

I have an 18 year old daughter that got selected by a local radio station near her college to go through a radio stunt in exchange for $1000. Basically, she has to stand in this glass case in her bare feet and the floor has an electric current running through it and it will shock her feet for one minute. If she lasts the minute without giving up she wins a $1000. How do I talk her out of it, she is going to do it but it does not sound safe. The radio station says it is but I have to think its a bit dangerous. Help, I need advice!!! Nothing I can say will convince her otherwise.

Answers:

Radio contests involving anything physical with a human being need to be approved by station management, and they also need to get approval from local health authorities before they go ahead. I would also assume she will need to sign a waiver of personal liability, so the station will not be held responsible if something does go wrong. My station has had many contest plans rejected because of these requirements.

Call up the radio station's general manager to find out for sure if they will be taking safety precautions, and if an emergency team will be present at the contest site. I can't really tell you what to do afterwards or recommend that you go to court over it (because anybody, especially corporate executives, can say anything), but the best thing to do is to tell her you are uneasy about it, encourage her not to go ahead with the stunt, and tell her that her life and health is worth more than any amount of money.
