Why do radio stations go 15 or 20 minutes between songs?!

Why do radio stations go 15 or 20 minutes between songs?
i know they need commercians for money but they need to play more music. if i wanted to hear so much talk i would turn it to a news station.
perhaps i should get satelite radio.

because they suck....go with Yahoo radio at home and seriously, even satellite radio isnt that great AND you have to pay for it...you might as well just get an ipod.
