Why isn't Hanukkah considered as national holidays?!

Question:

Why isn't Hanukkah considered as national holidays?

Answers:

As a Mexican Jew living in Mexico City, I can tell you that Hanukkah is a National Holiday for every single Jew living inside or outside of the State of Israel.

Why should the typical Americans, who are mostly catholic or cristians, celebrate Hanukkah? The are not required to celebrate
it but for the sake of humanity each one of us must respect each others ways in believing in God!!!

Have a exceelent week and enjoy your weekend.
