How do i get my own radio show?

I got my own radio show by being the next door neighbor of a DJ. He went the traditional rout i.e. broadcasting degree, internship, part time, overnights, then finally his own show. But me, I just hung around the station until they gave me my own show. Honestly. But let me tell you, radio sucks. the entire industry sucks. the pay sucks, the work sucks. You don't want to be on the radio. It sucks.
