if this happens while you listen to bbc radio online, its usually becuase the bitrate has gone down - the stream needs to buffer and if you have downloads/internet pages open at the same time, it will cause the quality to lower. There isnt that much you can do about it - close anything you arent really using that is taking up bandwidth is your best bet - refreshing will also temporarily bring the quality back up again.
