I just say "Hey, how are you, how have you been!?"
Then if I have to, I apologize and let them know I am really bad with names and ask them what their name is again!.
I usually tell them it's a musician thing, that a name goes in one ear and out the other!. And generally this is pretty true!. Most musicians I've met have the same problem!. Www@Enter-QA@Com

I don't say their name!. For example, when I have to introduce the persons name I can't remember to a person whose name I know, I simple say, "This is Shirley" and I say nothing about the other person as if they know!. Then they say hi to each other and either the other person introduces themselves or the person whose name I said, asks the other person who they are!. Works every time!Www@Enter-QA@Com

and if i'm wrong they correct me and then i say "haha yeah i knew that, i was just joking"

If I am with my bf, we have a mutual agreement that when one of us forgets a name, we give a signal and the other person will introduce themself and say "nice to meet you, I'm Sarah" then they will respond with "hi, I'm Eric" that is how we get the name out!.

Haha this happens to me alot!. If it's a girl I'd just be like, "Thanks girl!" or to guys/girls, "Hey love!.!.!." Corny, I know!.
