Question: Why did the officer got that mad !? Did I say anything wrong !?

I was at a public service and an officer was filling up a form with my data!. He asked : "Born!?!.!.!." I answered "Yes!"!. He raised his eyes from his papers , looked at me very seriously and asked again "Born!?!?!?!.!.!." I got so confused!!! I answered "Yes!" again, thinking how stupid he was!. Well, he got angry and started yelling that I am playing jokes on him and he is not in the mood!!
I mean!.!.!. what should I answer to his question !?

What would you answer when someone was looking at you, being there nice and live, and asked you " Born!?!?!?!.!.!."
