My uncle Giuseppe lives in California!. He called me 37 minutes ago, wondering, "what I and my family are doing for Thanksgiving!" I can't have him over since he gets drunk, drinks all the booze in my house, passes out on the couch and farts nonstop and is a little bit "retarded" ! (He is funny as hell, I have to admit) but what about my guests !? He talks about his AA meetings (he's been sober for 10 years now) and his dates go "wrong"!. Tell him that you'll have to many guests over and that there would be no room for him and say you will pay for half of his hotel bill because you feel so bad there is no room!.
AND if no one is staying say:
Maybe just talk to him about it (not the part about him farting or being retarded), just say "Uncle Giuseppe, almost every thanksgiving you come over you get drunk and this puts me out!. I know you've been sober, but I'd prefer if you'd only drink 1 glass of wine!." And if he does more than that tell him he needs a hotel!.
