Yes, I believe some self pity justified, absolutely!.
I don't wallow anymore, regular therapy has helped me outta' that!.
Now I find an infrequent dip will suffice!. Quick in, quick out, done deal!.
I know it can be helped (counseling, sometimes meds, or temporary meds, even temp counseling!.!.!.) but I don't think it should be completely eradicated: even dogs lick their own wounds!. To love oneself first means that we acknowledge experiences, reactions, feelings!. Self pity helps us find that "square one" when we're overwhelmed or feel lost!. But only a measure of it is needed, no more wallowing!. Ya' gotta' get up, gather yer marbles & play another game!.
