Why didn't the Doors have a bass player?!

Question: Why didn't the Doors have a bass player!?
Answers:
They actually did at some point!. On some of their really old stuff (like their demos) you can hear that there is a bass player in the background!. The band decided to not have a bass player because they thought they sounded too similar to all of the other bands during that time and wanted to be more individual (they said that they particularly sounded like The Rolling Stones) Although they did not have a bass player it was decided that there needed to be some aspect of bass in their sound!. It was then that Ray (their keyboard player) bought another keyboard (one of the smaller ones) and he would place it on top of his main keyboard!. Doing this, Ray would play the main part of the music with his right hand and play the bass with his left hand on the other keyboard!. This gave The Doors an open and airy, mysterious type of sound!. The main reason that this worked out (in my opinion) is because of John (the drummer)!. Since he was good at keeping the beat in drumming he could manage to play without the help of another instrument!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

Because Jimmy Morrison had such a strong voice it wouldn't have made any difference, bass player or not, you wouldn't have paid any attention to it anyway!. Www@Enter-QA@Com

Because of the depth of Jim Morrison's voice!.
