Answers:
I think it has a lot to do with the attitude of the worker, but longevity plays a part too!. I have worked many jobs over the years (factory, yard maintenance, food service, etc!.) but not until I got into my current line of work (transportation planning/engineering) did I feel like I had a career!. One reason is because I have been in the same line of work (but not the same employer) for over 10 years, but also because it is something that I identify myself with now - it's become part of who I am!.

I have heard people argue that the word "professional" only applies to "white collar" jobs that require a college degree!. I couldn't disagree more!. I think you can be a professional (i!.e!. have a career as a) plumber, carpenter, truck driver, exterminator, or whatever without having to go to college!. I think a lot of it is how you identify yourself and how dedicated (mentally) you are to that line of work!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

Job may refer to:

A job (role) served by a person or thing:
Employment, where a person is in a long-term relationship performing a service for an employer!.

A Career:

A career is traditionally seen as a course of successive situations that make up a person's worklife!. One can have a sporting career or a musical career without being a professional athlete or musician, but most frequently "career" in the 20th century referenced the series of jobs or positions by which one earned one's money!.
