Question: Survey - Can you really say a band has talent that does not write songs or play instruments!?
I have just read a question "Do Girls Aloud have talent!?" My God!.!.!.!.
Now, did everyone turn vegetable while I had my back turned, or is musical talent not defined as:-
1) Good singing voice
2) Good Songwriting
3) Skilled Instrument playing
I will not even begin to list all the bands/singers I believe have talent, but does everything have to be so watered down and commercial for the masses!?!?!?!?Www@Enter-QA@Com

UGGGH it annoys me when people listen to that! How can a band be talented if they write none of their songs, cant play an instrument, and in some cases cant even sing properly!.!.!.!.!.and then they call actual music crap just because its not on TV and they sing about real stuff and their music is not made on a computer!.!.!.do they not realise they are being exploited!? 'lets produce easy-to-make music and use lots of advertising to make easy money'

The problem is more to do with children being brain washed into believing things like Girls Aloud or the Jonas whatever is actually music !.
Pop has nothing to do with music !. It is about selling a fantasy to pre pubescent girls ( mainly )

this is the exact reason I point blank refuse to watch X Factor, Pop Idol etc!. They are end-of-the-pier, cruise ship acts at best and pushy, talentless brats at worst!. The REAL talent lies with the studio producers and money men who actually manage to pass these plastic phoneys off as stars and rake the cash in!. There is talent there, just other talents -
to be successful in the entertainment business they have to just be entertaining!(like beautiful or interesting looking or personalities, and alot of music now is also the show part, the sets, clothes, dancing,and most importantly the looks! and maybe they can sing too!)Www@Enter-QA@Com

They are performers not a proper 'band' !. Ditto the majority of all mainstream pop acts!.
What worries me is how many genuinely talented people are not getting any air play/ deals whatever, just because the y are normal or even pig ugly!.
Imagine if Shane McGowan came on the scene now!.!.!.!.

I agree that all of the above are important!. I would say 2 out of 3 of Girls aloud are very talented singers (Nadine and Nicola)!. I wathched the original talent show they were on, and Nadine is pretty amazing!. it's just the pop songs they sing don't show it off that well!.Www@Enter-QA@Com
