Like most people who have answered, I am not going to lie to you!.
I too, have wondered this!.
While I agree that beauty comes from within, and that it doesn't really matter what the "outside" of a person looks like, provided that they have a beautiful soul, and while i also agree to each his own, i CAN be honest enough to admit that there are some REALLY FUGLY looking people out there; and if I were ugly, i wouldn't be advertising it on the net, you know what i mean!?
But the truth of the matter is, most people just want to be unique and/or fit in!. They want the attention that comes with other people knowing what they look like!. To show one's photo is to show a part of themselves!. So, i am guessing that people (generally) regardless of outward appearance, simply want to feel accepted, and want to be known!. I guess that's why most post thier pictures!.
I've only posted half a picture twice, but that was so that, at least for a while, i would stop being confused with other people!. No, i am not ugly!. though some days i feel like it; but my preferance is privacy, that's why i always use a photo of something else !.!.!. either a drawing i did (like now) or a Martini or a Lightbulb or a Heart or something!.
But i won't judge you for your question (though i expect someone to be nasty and report it)!. i am sure, almost positive, that everyone who answered, regardless of what they actually wrote, has thought what you have asked, at least one!. It's human nature!.
