I believe that it IS UNETHICAL to vote for your own answer!.!.!.!.!.
IF:
1) You vote for your own answer only because it is your own answer!.
2) You vote for your own answer without rereading the question, and EVERY submitted answer to the question!.
3) You vote for your own answer, knowing that your answer is NOT the best answer!.
4) You vote for your own answer, simply in an effort to gain points, without giving thought or having the integrity to choose the most sound, informative, and/or correct answer!.

IF:
1) you have objectively reviewed the question and ALL submitted answers, and your answer IS truly and honestly, and factually, the best answer to the question -- (keywords: OBJECTIVE, HONEST, FACTUAL)!.
Added note: Along the same lines, I feel that it is UNETHICAL to answer a question, and give others' answers the "thumbs down" for no apparent or valid reason!. I do believe that giving a "thumbs down" IS warranted when an answer is profane, insulting, antagonizing, or vulgar!.
Why, you ask!?
It boils down to fairness, objectivity, and integrity in voting for, or answering questions to be of help to the "asker"!. Voting and answering questions, is a selflessness act; it's not about you, it's about the question itself!.
There is no correct answer to "poll questions"!. A poll is simply a gathering of individual thoughts and opinions!.

It takes too much effort to vote for yourself!. You have to go all the way back through your history, try and identify which one is yours, and vote for your answer, and you have to do that with every question!.
I'd rather just play Halo then waste my time with that!.
