However, almost all of the USA is safe, and the parts that aren't are associated with particular cities rather than states!. It not different than London or Paris, where there are neighborhoods non-locals stay away from!.
Almost all of the serious violent crime in America (murders, shootings, stabbings, etc!.) happens within the criminal community and usually involves illegal drugs as a motive!. The drugs are also where the gangs come in!. Almost all of the remainder are "domestic" crimes!. There is very, very little random serious violent crime in America!.
I know TV and the cinema portray the USA otherwise, but almost all Americans live quite ordinary lives that are not very different from the lives of people in the UK!.
I have only visited western North Carolina (around Asheville) but it was beautiful and a very nice place to be (friends live there)!.Www@Enter-QA@Com
