Question: Have people ever bugged you about your musical taste!?
I listen to rock music, while everyone else at school listens to rap and hip-hop and pop, and because everybody is either black (me) or hispanic and that's 'not what I'm supposed to listen to'!. Some people seem to talk down to me like I'm a slow child or something!. They say things like "Why do you listen to that!?" or "And you don't listen to any black people!?' or "She doesn't know about J Records, she doesn't listen to what we listen to!."!. Like I'm some sort of idiot!. It annoys me slightly!.

I'm the same way!. Everyone at my school listens to rap!. And I hate rap!. I listen to rock, mainly classic rock!. And people find it weird, especially because I'm a 16 year old girl, listening to rock from the 70s!. But its good music, so I listen to it!. Plus it reminds me of a long time ago when my dad would take us in his '57 chevy, we would have classic rock playing, and we would get KFC and go to the park!. I was in the 9th grade WAY back in 1985!. I had to go to summer school and it was my first exposure to inner-city public schooling!. At that time there was a pronounced "war" between rappers and metalheads!. I was into neither kind of music until my second day there, 3 large senior rappers cornered me and started making very violent racial comments!.
To my rescue came 3 even larger metal-heads, 2 white, one black!. I hung out with them and they got me into heavy metal in a hurry!.That war kept going until at last the Run-DMC/Aerosmith collaboration on a new hip-hop version of "Walk This Way" soothed a lot of the tensions!. While I am still not as big a fan of rap, I have to admit that summer was a big defining moment of my history!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

I get that a lot considering I don't exactly look like the kind of person that listens to screamo, metal, punk music hehe the blonde hair doesn't help that either =P can't help that was what I was born with!. They also are obsessed with Chris Brown, and rap!.

i love all kinds of music, and if someone finds out i like a certain type they say, "omg what a freak she likes techno!." and if another person finds out a different type of music i enjoy they say, "rap is crap!. shouldn't she know that!?"

Not really, no, but that's really lame!. There are TONS of rock bands with the lead singer as a black guy!.!.!. For instance Nonpoint and Killswitch Engage (new guy) are both awesome!.!.!.

i listen to mostly everything!.!.!.R&B, HipHop, some Rap, Country, Punk Rock, Pop, Soul!.!.!.!.anything with a good vibe!. my friends and family say im weird but i dont care no matter where im at if my song come on im blasting it and singing it loudly lolWww@Enter-QA@Com
