How Would You Feel If You Were Adopted?!

i am adopted by my maternal grandmother (well was i am now 20) and it didnt affect my life at all in fact i wouldnt want it any other way

I don't think it would change the way I felt towards my adopted family because I know that they would have done everything they could to give me a better life than the one I would have been destined to have!. I would have been grateful that someone wanted me, even if my biological parents didn't!.

If I were adopted - I would feel very special - because it meant that the couple that adopted really wanted a child!. Some people cannot have children and really want a family and this is there only way of doing that - so as the adopted child it would make me feel special!.

Would I want to meet my birth mother/parents - I would only if my adopted parents were comfortable with it!.

There are many reasons people give up children for adoption - rape is a big one!. So you just never know - I sure it is just as hard on the mother giving up her child as it is trying to keep them!.

You have to put yourself in their shoes!.

I can sort of understand because I found out as a kid that my father was actually my stepfather, because I was an extramarital "accident" from a period where my parents had separated briefly!. It was weird!. I had always felt sort of left out for some reason, especially by my dad, and suddenly I had a potential explanation for that!. And also, then the curiosity sets in about this other person out there to whom you are very closely related!. And lots of other issues like you realize you have been lied to your whole life, and you wonder if you were the cause of various arguments you can recall growing up, and whether your other real parent knows about you and just doesn't want you -- and if so, why!? It's a really confusing and it's not really positive, but by no means does it have to ruin your life!.

No, it wouldn't feel different towards my adoptive parents!. My mom was 15 when she got pregnant with me and after having three girls in ten years of marriage, my dad decided not to come around anymore!. If I had been adopted, I don't know who would have let them adopt us (with her being so young and him being so irresponsible)!.

I would meet my birth parents only if my "adoptive" mom felt comfortable with it!. Www@Enter-QA@Com
