It depends on why your friend needs $10,000!. This means that you need 1,000 people to give $10!. If it's a good cause, you need documentation, so that people won't think you are making it up!. Then you need to find about 1,000 people who are willing to give you $10 (or less or more of course!.) Best if you find 9 people to help (10 including yourself!.) Then each person can find 100 people who are willing to give!. I think if it is a good cause, then you should ask at larger local churches!. Then all the donations can go through the churches and will be tax-deductible for those who give (i!.e!. they can get a receipt if they need one!.) Send your people out to different churches or organizations to give presentations and ask for help!. Then it should be easy!. also, it works very well if you can find some kind of company that is willing to match donations!. Although this probably takes longer than 1 week, but most big companies will help local people, especially if they get some good publicity from it!. Then you would only have to raise $5,000!.
If it's not a good cause, then you are pretty much screwed!.
