You don't say "give a dog a bon", "ice cream con" or "lon ranger", so it's scone pronounced as Sc-own!.

I SAY MUFFIN!
To me:
Muffin = Scone cut on half and buttered
Scone = Jam
Cupcake= Muffin with iceing, but I scrape off the iceing so it's the normal version of muffin!
