Say me and my G/F (Pregnant) went to New York for a trip!.!. During that time her water broke and there is no way that we are going to be able to rush up to Canada in time for the baby!. Would we have to pay for the expenses for her to give birth in an American Hospital!? and would the baby be American!? Www@Enter-QA@Com

Because the child was born in American he or she would be born in America, but not considered an American!. Its like when a child is born on a plane!. If they were born over China, than they'd be considered "born in China!."

In the US, it costs about $10,000 to have a normal delivery if you don't have insurance!.
I would read up on the rules of the Canadian insurance if you know where to find them!.

You'd have an American kid and it would cost you loads of money unless you have insurance -or just have a nice quick birth in the hotel/5th Avenue/empire state building!. Nice idea - and just checking - you know also you didn't ought to fly if you're in third trimester!?Www@Enter-QA@Com

Yes, the baby would be born an American since they're born on American soil!. And you should buy Travel Insurance that covers all health expenses abroad Canada!. US hospitals charge an arm and a leg!. But real good idea though!.!.!.Www@Enter-QA@Com
