Question: Are you peeved at paying 5p for poly bags at M & S foodhall!?
it is most annoying esp!. at self service tills you have to ask the staff for a bag or at ordinary tills state how many you require, (you add it to your touch screen) It is just for food they give free bags for clothing and household things!.!.!.!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

YES! - I couldn't believe the cheek of them!.!.!.their food is pricier than others and I don't expect to give them free advertising by paying for one of their bags to take my goods home with their name printed on the side!! Www@Enter-QA@Com

Yeah it is annoying if you just happen to pop in there and don't have another bag on you!. Their bag for life is stronger and only costs five pence more, and this weekend they are giving away free bags for life with every purchase!. But you still have to remember to take it with you lol! In Sainbury's you can buy fair-trade cloth bags for 99p and they are really good, and the cheapest cloth bag i've come across, also they are fair-trade so extra brownie points!. Unfortunately with the price of oil going up plastic bags are getting thinner and all shops will charge soon, it is doubtful whether is is only for environmental reasons or because of the price of oil (of course that is how plastic is manufactured)!. Incidentally Sainsburys is removing its plastic bags form the counters from October so making sure you reuse is becoming a fact of life!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

I don't shop there but no I dont' think it's wrong, too many people have been using too many bags and once only too!.
It's better for the environment and the only way to get people to use fewer bags, we had the chance to reduce our use without being charged for them, and too many didn't take it!.
Although I do agree that they should remove their name from the bags so they're not getting free advertising - any shop that charges for a bag should removed their logo, maybe there could be one national 'going green' logo on any paid-for carrier bag!.
The odd time I've been in M&S I've found the prices of their food WAY more offensive!

Yes,especially as their prices are ridiculous!.5p isn't much,but it's the principle!.
I've just done a quick sum and if you buy 5 bags of groceries a week, you're giving M&S £13 a year for bags and giving them free advertisingWww@Enter-QA@Com

they charge 22 cent in Ireland and i think it is a good thing!.!.!. the money spent on plastic bags is used in other enviromental causes and there is never plastic bags blowing about in the windWww@Enter-QA@Com

No I bring my own!. ASDA do foldable re-usable bags now - they're excellent!. You could easily fit ten in a coat pocket!. While plastic bags don't add up to much pollution, the shift in how we treat disposables hopefully will!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

I can't believe your upset about a 5p charge, after paying for their grossly overpriced food in the first place!.
