Yes!. I was actually just thinking about this topic today!. What a coincidence that I get to answer a question about it on YA!. I have a final pretrial conference for my first time felony offense on Oct!. 2 and I have a public defender that totally doesn't know what she's doing, and it's not just me that thinks that about her!. Anyway, as I looked at the calendar today and counted how many days I have left until the big day, I thought about this same question!. I have to agree I would do just about anything it took to afford the lawyer that I called and spoke to yesterday!. He said he could definitely make sure I got another form of punishment besides two years in prison!. My public defender said that it what the prosecuting attorney offered so far!. I told her today I would not accept the plea!. I have until Sept!. 29 to take a plea offer or I have to go to jury trial on Oct!. 8!. If I could afford the lawyer that could really help me, then I need $5,000!. I could only hope a miracle could happen!. I really hope everyone that reads this understands that they should never take their freedom for granted!. Every fresh breath of air I have remaining outside of a prison cell counts to me know!.
