Is there a limit on how much junk mail you can recieve through the post?!

Question: Is there a limit on how much junk mail you can recieve through the post!?
I've just came home for my lunch to be confronted with a grand total of TWELVE items of junk mail, ranging from mobile phone offers, broadband offers, television offers, takeaway menus and other garbage!. Why does Royal Mail continue to post this rubbish through my door!? I'm signed up for the Mail Preference Service which supposedly means they're not meant to give you junk mail!.

What do I do!?
What would you do!?
Thanks!. Www@Enter-QA@Com

It's disappointing that even after signing up the preference service you are still getting junk mail!. I have heard it takes a while to kick-in, though, I'm not sure if you only recently signed up!?

When I get junk mail I cross my name out and deposit it back in a postbox, so that hopefully it gets returned to the sender!. Ideally they'd be charged postage, too, as I don't use stamps, but in reality I don't think that happens!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

Put a sign on your mailbox for the postman, that you have signed up!? I have discovered with most governments, trickle down word takes a while for the people on the bottom!. Leave him a friendly note, informing him of you choices!.

I wish we had that service here in the states!Www@Enter-QA@Com

A lot of that stuff is not from Royal Mail, it is just people paid to distribute it!. What I used to do is stop them and tell them to stop it, I hated it! And the ones that are from the royal mail, just speak to your post man!.
Good luck :-)Www@Enter-QA@Com

I'd pile it all up, address it to Royal Mail customer services dept and put it in the letter box - without a stamp on it!.

Wish I could do the same for those freelancers who invade my letterbox too!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

I am troubled with it too, I also get a free newspaper called Extra every other day! What a waste!. It also drives me mad when I open a magazine & about 10 leaflets for catalogues, mobile contracts etc all fall out! Dont think there is much than can be done at all xxWww@Enter-QA@Com

Gather up all of the junk maill, mark the envelopes "return to sender" and re-post them!. If everyone did this, the companies sending them out might get the message!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

no limit and you'll continue to get lots as long as people pay for it to bedelivered I have stated "no junk mail"Www@Enter-QA@Com

I had the same problem and I just put a notice on my front door saying no junk mail, and I haven't had any since!. Give it a try!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

I can't remember who it is you complain to to get these types of mailings stopped!.!.!.your local sorting office may be able to help or give you a central number!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

You get back in touch with Royal Mail, they are obviously not doing their job properlyWww@Enter-QA@Com
