It supposedly relieves the brain from stressful activity, which is what results in the "high" feeling!. Many people with mental illnesses use it to rid themselves temporarily of personal problems, however, I do not believe it should be something of permanent usage!.
Of course, there's always going to be that argument that other pain killers and antibiotics are addictive, which is true!. Marijuana is addictive as well as any other medication, such as Vicodin!. That doesn't dismiss marijuana as a medicinal drug, though!. So in most cases, it would make sense for marijuana to be of medicinal assistance!.
