.what do you think of my take on being fit and slim, based on your outlook and l!

Question: !.what do you think of my take on being fit and slim, based on your outlook and lifestyle preferences!.!.!.!.!.!?
first off, all diets and fitness regimes are in my view useless -if you experience them as something to be endured---because your resolve will eventually weaken and you will either start to yo-yo, or you will give up entirely!.

the food angle has been covered marvelously by paul mckenna with his ideas about conscious eating and only eating when genuinely hungry!.!.!.read his book!.!.!. I Can Make You Thin!.
diets are torture and never work in the long run!.

as to exercise, i think you basically have three styles

1!. the GYM [/POOL]!.!.!.!. [including aerobics and other non competitive activities]
2!. SPORT!.!.!.!.
3!. OUTDOOR PURSUITS!.!.!.!. [including hiking & walking etc]

the gym is ideal for those [urbanites] who hate sport and have no interest in nature wildlife and landscape!. in fact if you want to be lean and mean--its pretty much!.!.[with swimming /aerobics etc]!.!.Your only option!.
you will have to accept that whereas sports lovers socialise and interact as part of their exercise and have fun keeping fit, and nature lovers love being in nature!.!.and getting exercise whilst walking or hiking outdoors!.!.!.you are on the indoor/urbanites treadmill-swimming-aerobics option and have to accept that it's a Permanent lifestyle choice, if you want to remain fit and slim---the only other choice you have if this seems like forced labour to you, is to A: choose a sport to keep fit [no matter how badly you play it in the begining] or B: to get out into the fresh air regularly and just walk hike climb etc to keep fit
!.
if you are out of shape but know you want to end up doing the sport or outdoor pursuits option, my advice would be to pay for 3 months gym/pool etc membership to get into reasonable shape, then switch to the more fun ways of getting exercise!.

personally i prefer a bit of sport and a bit of walking & hiking, with occasional swims, but i would never have an exercise machine at home!.!.!.[except a heated pool-i wish!]!.!.!.home is for relaxing in, and i would only consider a three months/cash gym membership [with sauna!] in the cold&wet winter months of nov dec jan!.

basically i think it's pointless Getting fit and lean with all the effort and expense involved, if you dont then have something to KEEP you Permanently fit and slim, because its Only that lifestyle that is going to maintain your physique!.
if you are not prepared to change your lifestyle, you might as well accept the body you have now and save yourself the effort, because if you dont change your lifestyle--your body is only going to revert to the shape you are now[or worse!]!.!.!.after you backslide from being fed up with all the tedium and labour of the exercise!.

does this make sense to you!.!.!?Www@Enter-QA@Com

If you think it is pointless getting fit and lean with all the effort and expense that is involved now (preventative), think of all the expense later in life when there are more complications, pathologies, and hospitalizations involved!
I am overweight, but have lost 74 lbs over the past year after many years of yo yo dieting!. I joined Weight Watchers and it has helped me to learn how to eat without limiting you on what you can eat!.!.!.for example, you can have cheese cake, but maybe you have a lighter meal with it!. There are programs out there and maybe with a little support (which is what I needed) you can do it!.
As for working out, you have to find something you enjoy!. You should never lump people into categories!. I am an athlete who loves to play basketball, but also likes to take hikes in the mountains!. I go to the gym a few times a week and do water aerobics and lift weights!. Recently, I have taken up dancing lessons!. I believe that anything that makes you work a little harder than your "status quo" could be considered exercise!.!.!.just varying in intensity!.
I do agree with you about being ready to change your lifestyle!. First, you have to be conscious of wanting to exercise!. Then, you need to have things prepared in order to do so!.!.!.shoes, time in your schedule!. Then you have to actually do it and maintain it!. Having a goal or purpose in mind always helps!.
By the way, people don't only exercise to look good, but it may be for their health, stress control, socialization, etc!.!.!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

It does make sense!.!.!.however there is an option for the lovers of music!. Each weekend, my hubby my son and myself go for extended walks/hikes!. We have been known to spend several hours in the great outdoors thanks to our state parks!. However, I'm morbidly afraid of doing such a thing alone or with only my son in tow!. Sooo!.!.!.when I am home, I break out my karaoke machine and pop in my fave artist and put on my very own "live performance" Dancing, singing, moving around, giving a free concert to my dogs 3 or four days a week!. (I think one of my dogs is actually quite frightened when she watches)
The greatest thing about it, is that even if you aren't a great singer or dancer, there are no worries about those stares from others that make you feel awkward at a gym!. You are having so much fun, you don't realize that by the end of the CD you have given yourself a great workout!. A treadmill is still a treadmill, even if you have music playing!. This is how I've been 'working out' since I was a young teen and listening to Janet Jackson's "Control" album!.
Get up and dance!! <g>Www@Enter-QA@Com

Although i don't have any access to a pool or interest in any sport i chose to do taebo!. =D thnks for the info tho!Www@Enter-QA@Com
