I hate to be the one to break the news to you, but the beatles were the 60's equivalent of a boy band, just like the backstreet boys and jonas bros!. You had Ringo, who didn't actually play the drums on the albums and was merely a puppet, Paul, who was a crappy bass player and was more concerned with how his bass looked than how well he played it, George!.!.!.need I say more, and John, whose wife kept his balls in her purse!. There can never be, nor will ever be, another "Beatles"!. It was not just about the songwriting, but the melding of songs to a time and generation that crosssed age and cultures!. Coldplay is talented and all, but no musical group has the depth of writing and talent and singing amongst ALL it's members as did the Beatles!. You would almost have to form an all-star "supergroup" of players to come close!.

There have been many people who have emulated the Beatles and of course Elvis, but no one can come any where near the real thing!. There will be others who will become just as "powerful" [for want of a better word] and will be classed in the same category, but the Beatles, together with Elvis will be known purely as themselvesWww@Enter-QA@Com
the only other artist i can think of that really came close to beatles status is michael jackson circa thriller!.
others that sold as many albums, but did not create the craze and mania are madonna and u2!. there are more, but that's what comes to mind right now!.

The Jonas Brothers!. Their concerts are sold out, they write amazing songs, they have great voices, they're unforgettably cute/hot, they are the best dressed celebrities on the red carpet, and every girl in the world loves them! Beat that!Www@Enter-QA@Com
