I was as a kid and sadly admit to disciplining that way too to a lesser degree!.
Luckily my sons were quick learners and it was rare when more than a word of "be nice"or "act right" was ever needed!. We told them what behavior was expected for the situation and they were very good, we went everywhere with them and was complimented often on how well behaved they were!. And I do think taking them everywhere helped, out to eat, vacations, antique stores never had any problems !.Www@Enter-QA@Com
