Because when you are a child you think that an adults life looks much cooler and you are jealous of things they can do: drive, drink, have a job, not go to school etc!.
Then whenever you grow up you realise how much tax you have to pay, how hard you have to work, the amount of bills and prices of things that you don't need to worry about as a child
So I guess it is a question of jealousy!?

I can't agree with you fully!. Yes, when I was a child I couldn't wait to grow up; however, as an adult, I do not ever wish to be a child again!. And no, I didn't have a crappy childhood or anything (middle school was the best time of my life & most people hate their middle school years)!. Oh, and I never believed in Santa, what's the point!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

but yet we don't see the cons
example, driving, do whatever you want, leave the house whenever, no school, money, job
etc
but when you really have to pay bills and work
then you wish you were a kid and everything was handed to you again

well i dont want to grow up but i just wish my mum and dad would stop treating me like their little girl im not and im old enough to make my own decisions in life I chose my options I chose my college/uni courses, and so far Im doing fine on my own!.
