Question: Ladies, a hopeless guy needs your help with some interior design!?
i am decorating my room and im 19!.

The carpet colour is a creamy biege and im not changing that because it is relatively new!.

I want the room to look clean, simple, sophisticated but not bland!.

And for the furniture: http://www!.yabbyou!.co!.uk/vermont-oak-kin!.!.!.

What do you think!? If you look at the walls in the picture they are the sort of colour i was thinking!.

What do you recommend for curtain and bedding colour!?

That sounds like my room now and both myself and my boyfriend are both happy with the decor!.

I have cream walls with black and white pictures of new york/london/debbie harry in the room!.

Black and white prints look really nice in bedrooms and they are suitable for both sexes!. If your into your music get pics of artists you like in the room!. You can buy really nice prints of all sorts of artists!. This way you get your personality accross!. I got my furniture from ikea! Its quite similar to what you have picked out actually!. I like the idea you have!. Plus I have a chandelier but i think it may be too flamboyant for a males bedroom lol

As for soft furnishings Id pick whatever colour is your favourite any colour would go in a room like that!. Www@Enter-QA@Com

You have beautiful furniture & floors!. I wouldn't choose any bold decor, as it may take away from the natural, subtle look you have!. The wall color is nice!. Actually, your orange bedspread is a blending color!. Perhaps natural looking vases with dried oats, soft-colored candles!. Something on the arty side on the walls that doesn't overpower!. I don't think you need a whole lot, just a few soft, creative touches!. Have fun!Www@Enter-QA@Com

aww!.!. this question is so cute
i'd pick neutral for the wall but i'd put a feature wall in the room!.!. behind the bed maybe!.!.!. white nd beige vertical stripes maybe

I don't like large furniture!.!.!. the more modern italian ones are the ones i like!. I'd go with wooden furniture!.!.!. mahagony nd teak

I like this room:

Keep the walls simple!. Try painting it cream or magnolia!. Depending on the size of the room you could get away with painting a wall a light brown!. Again with the bedding and curtains stick to light cream although a little darker than your walls!. You can buy seperate tie backs and throws or scatter cusions!. For the walls canvas art!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

Love the bed! I would probably pick a darker, deeper shade for the walls so there would be more contrast between the walls and the bed!. The pine is lovely and you want it to stand out!. It's going to get lost with beige walls and carpet!. For drapes and quilt/shams, I would get something in various shades of the wall colourWww@Enter-QA@Com

Well, you have to live with it so it's really up to you! Why not go for the furniture and walls you've mentioned, and then pick out a colour you really like, and have the bedding, curtains, and accessories in that,!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

the light colored walls will be perfect with that furniture!. almost any color will look great as an accent dark green or blue for the draperies & beddingWww@Enter-QA@Com

If your walls are cream and beige, I would definitely go with the furniture you have picked because it is pretty neutral and would look good in almost any colour room!.

As for the bedding, I would personally go with navy!. A deep blue would pop against the walls and bed furniture!. Or you could even go with a striped bed set to add some patterns (link included)!.

In terms of art, I would hang a corkboard where you can just tack random stuff to it!.

You could also accessorize (sorry, I can't think of another word for it) with more masculine stuff, like clocks and bedside table lights!. As for art, maybe you have a signed jersey or poster that you'd like to frame and hang up!.

Love the furniture!. The carpet sounds nice, too!. But I think you should paint the walls a different color, otherwise everything is going to just blend in together and look really bland!. What is your favorite color!? One idea is to paint all the walls except the one behind the head of the bed a pastel shade, and paint the remaining wall in a darker shade to set off the headboard!. Once you determine the colors for the walls, take paint swatches with you to choose bedding and curtains!. Department stores like JCPenney, Sears, or Mervyns have coordinating sets that you can buy that will take a lot of the guesswork out of it!.
Certainly you should put artwork or other decorative touches on the walls!. If you don't already have some things in mind, try Michaels or Hobby Lobby for a huge selection!. In most cases, less is more as far as the walls are concerned!. You don't want to get a cluttered look!.
Don't be afraid to ask the sales people for advice or opinions, they can be very helpful!. Or take along a friend whose judgement you trust!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

I personally like color, Like if not a colored rug then the curtains and bedding could be colored!. With what you have chosen, I think a deep red, redish burgundy could look nice and make it look rich!. Or you could go the brown way and make it warm, maybe get espresso or mocha colors to accent the creme!. Or maybe you can paint the wall a cream color as you said, a bit darker!.!.and then about a 2 ft wide "Strip" going down could be a lighter cream color in a sponge paint pattern (making it really faint) It looks warm and accents the wall!. You would only do this on one wall, and like I said, about 2 feet wide from the celing to the floor, and then you can do another one however many feet later!. I would do 2 of those, about 3 feet in from the wall on each side!. You can get sponge patterns, like the patterns of a leaf, but since it will be so faint, it will look really nice!.Www@Enter-QA@Com
