Question: Do you have a favorite response to the Q "How are you today!?"
I asked this of an 86 year old man recently and he replied,

I sometimes use a slight variation on MunkeyLuv's answer: "Can't complain!. Well, I could, but it wouldn't do any good"!.
But most of the time, I think I say I'm "not too bad"!.!.!.!.!.in a rather gloomy, "Eeyoreish" kind of way!.
Edit: I think "I'm alright, I suppose" is another one of my usual responses to this question!.!.!.!.again delivered in a rather gloomy tone of voice!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

So then I have to sit in uncomfortable silence until the other person invariably says!.!."You're lying through your (pick a location based on the person you imagine saying it!.!.!.sigh)"

It's called 'distraction' Don'cha know!.!.!.while they try to figure out what the hell that means, I change the topic!. Is easier than telling the truth!.
