Question: Why does my mom laugh every time I say "I'm a vegetarian!."!?

Maybe she just doesn't get it!. If you were raised on meat and meat by-products and had no problems with it, it's a bit of a shock to hear someone suddenly declare "I'm a vegetarian!!" She might not know how to prepare a meal for you without using meat!.
Google Vegetarian Life and see what you can find!. I know there are all kinds of recipes out there for the vegan or vegetarian!. (Vegans eat NO meat or dairy, vegetarians use dairy sparingly and eat fish, no other meat!.)
Being a vegetarian isn't a sin, it's just not what a lot of people are used to dealing with!. And just for the record, I try to have a "vegetarian day" once a week!. We love our meats and all, but going without it once a week is good for you!. Then again!.!.!.!. we end up giving up most meats on Fridays any way!. We eat fish and such, just not any other meat!. Because she thinks it's a phase you'll grow out of!. My dad's like that with my sister, who's been vegan now for ten years!. He still thinks she's going to grow out of it eventually!.
I highly doubt it tho, considering she cried when she found out one of her ex boyfriends got her to eat meat somehow :/

Probably because she has seen you sneak and eat meat!. I used to laugh at my brother when he claimed that he was Muslim,,but yet,,,he would sneak and eat pork (eating pork is against Muslim religion) when he thought we weren't looking!.Www@Enter-QA@Com
