Question: Blood Test: Has any one else just come back from having one!?!?
I have just had another one this morning, and was wondering do you think that nurses are better at taking blood rather than doctors!? I find that nurses are pretty good at it, they seem to find the vain on the first or second try, where as doctors for some reason poke and push and ouch!! twist the blessed needle around in several different places before they hit the jack pot!. What has been your experience!?!?Www@Enter-QA@Com

I have had many blood tests over the years!.!.!.!.I think the last one was just a few months ago!. While I don't *like* them, I don't think I have ever really had a bad experience!.!.!.!.but maybe I have been lucky!. I think I have good, visible veins which seem to be easy to find!.Www@Enter-QA@Com
Hmm, I've had blood taken tons of times (lots of medical issues) but I've never, ever had a doctor take it!. It's always been either a nurse or phlebotomist!. In my opinion, it seems to depend on where they went to school to learn, as far as how good or bad they are at it!. I recently moved to a new town and the phlebotomists here are waaaaay better than where I used to live!. I think their local trainng here must be pretty good!.Www@Enter-QA@Com
i had bloods done 2 wks ago and the nurse was great!
my gp is not,i go to another gp,so i get the referral to go to patholgy and get them done!.ive had awful bruising from my gp,he says not to worry,it will go away,yikes!Www@Enter-QA@Com

I've had heaps and heaps of blood tests, and I've found nurses do a better job!. The same with drips in hospital- I've had a nurse take out one a doctor's done and do it again!.Www@Enter-QA@Com
yea, nurses are more gentle for some reason and trust me i have had my fair share of blood tests and i am due for another one soonWww@Enter-QA@Com
