I think Savage was a little mean in the way he said that!. But there may be some truth in his remark!. I'm sure a lot of these kids are Autistic and a lot probably are not! If this is so common as they say it may be, why don't we has a bunch of adult "Rainman's" walking around!? It's like Attention Deficit Disorder!. Every kid today who throws a tantrum when he or she don't get there way has ADD! When I was a kid, you got a spanking, today you get pills!Www@Enter-QA@Com

Autism is a disability

like the class room to daily living!.
also if they learn 3 + 6 = 9 then 6 + 3 still has to be learn!.
When they work with paints their painting is 2D but when they work with clay it more 3D as they see the world more by touch

So Trackgurl 083, does that mean that I should tell my next door neighbor that she should just suck it up because she has three children with varying degrees of autism!? I see what she has to go through each day while she juggles a career, a household, and a husband who travels a lot for work!. I admire anyone who can do what she can!. Perhaps you should educate yourself before you post such inane comments!. Autism is a neurobiological disorder!. Autistic children have difficulties with social interaction, display problems with verbal and nonverbal communication, and exhibit repetitive behaviors or narrow, obsessive interests!. These behaviors can range in impact from mild to disabling!. My neighbor has children who range from mild on up!. I think that more education should be present at the schools and that help for parents readily available!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

Savage always goes off the deep end!. Autism is a terrible thing, but I read Thomas Sowell's column of a week ago on that topic & I respect his opinions greatly!. He has pointed out that diagnosing children with autism before 2 is problematical at best & dangerous at worst!. It seems part of what Savage said is true!. It does seem to be the "disease De Jour"!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

I didn't see that particular program!. My eight yr old grandson is autistic!. He has some neuro-motor deficits and cannot speak!. To the person above, yes, we deal with it every day! Maybe people are tired of hearing about it, but it has reached almost epidemic proportions and I believe the day will come when just about every family will have at least one member who falls into the category of pervasive developmental disorder!. PDD!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

I didn't watch it, but it sounds like he sure made a fool out of himself!.Www@Enter-QA@Com
