What good is it, my brothers, if a man claims to have faith but has no deeds!? Can such faith save him!? James 2:14 (NIV)

A recent Gallup Poll says there are fifty million people in America who say, "I am a Christian!." But truth be told, not all of those fifty million can back it up with the lifestyle they live!. Just because a person claims it, doesn't mean they have it!.

Typically, we label people "believers" today if they vaguely sound Christian!. At the end of a World Series, a player may come on TV while the champagne is spraying, and say, "I just want to thank the good Lord!." We think, "Oh, he must be a Christian, he said 'Lord!.'" Well, not necessarily!. Not everybody who has a Christian bumper sticker on their car is a Christian!. Have you figured that one out!? In Matthew 7:21 (NIV), Jesus said, "Not everyone who says to me, 'Lord, Lord,' will enter the kingdom of heaven!." Not everybody who claims to be a believer really is a believer!.

James points out that there's a big difference between being a professor and a possessor, between saying it and actually having it!. So what does Jesus say!? What value is this faith that just claims it!? Jesus says there's no value at all!. It's worthless!. Talk is cheap, because faith is more than just something you say!.

· Take inventory!. Is your lifestyle saying something opposite of the bumper sticker on your car!? Is Jesus the guiding force in everything you do or is he just along for the ride with several other more benign influences!?

· Connecting with God is a catalyst for faith!. What are you doing this very moment that is a start to a reckless pursuit of God!?

· Match words with actions and actions with words!. In truth you need both! Prepare for the day ahead by making a promise that you'll walk the talk!

Stop and help, what is the point of preaching and praying for your soul salvation if God gives you the chance to put it into practice and you refuse!. "Hands that help are holier than lips that pray" Sai Baba, don't preach to me and then turn and let someone, who cries for help, wallow in their pity!!!! I call you a sinner and a traitor to God!!!!Www@Enter-QA@Com

I believe that Jesus would want me to stop and witness to that person with a tortured spirit and to lead them to the light of salvation through Jesus Christ!. I would take as much time as possible to help this person without a doubt!. As a Christian, this is one of the main things that God wants you to do is to help those in need anytime you are able to!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

I don't know if i would stop to give them a sermon type talk, because i don't know enough, all i really know and believe strongly,is I'm going to Heaven and my God will help me there!.(if i help him and let him)

Helping the person!. I don't go to church, but only because the different scents of perfumes and colognes in one place really make me ill!. I do however still have my faith and pray and read the Bible!. Doing the good deed of helping another is what God would want me to do!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

I remember a part in the book of Matthew where Jesus was questioned about him healing on the day of the Sabbath!. He told the Pharisees that it was much more important to heal the needy!. So I think the latter is more important!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

Give them the Word, and then pray to them in the church!.

God sees what you do more than what you say!Www@Enter-QA@Com

Helping the person that's asking you!. Church services are important, but missing one won't be bad or anything!.!.!. you were doing something very important and God knows that :]Www@Enter-QA@Com

Going to church to attend servicesWww@Enter-QA@Com

stopping and helping someone, if god is all around you then church isnt a huge deal!?

and i'll post where ever i please!Www@Enter-QA@Com

Helping someone is more important!. " As you do unto the least of these so have you done to me" or something like that!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

Stopping to help out a person in need, xx

God Bless YouWww@Enter-QA@Com

I would stop to give them the Word!. Even though all people who believe in God can benefit from learning about him, I believe the population you mentioned would benefit from it more than me missing church service!. Maybe having a complete stranger who is a bum, prostitute, alcoholic, homeless person, drug addict, etc asking to hear about God is God's way of asking me to spread the Word!. I'm not a really religious person (as in going to church every Sunday), but I do believe in God, and I do believe in helping others, so I'm happy to share what knowledge I do have with someone who wants to know!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

Going to church isn't necessary to have a deep spiritual connection to your god!. Actions speak louder then words, I believe that any good deeds you preform are not even on the same scale as going to Church!. As in if you have the opportunity to help some one in need, and you choose to take the time out of your day to help, it is such a powerful thing!. That no one can argue that you did something wrong because you didn't!. As for stopping to give them the word!. I would say most American's are not comfortable speaking to one another about such topics!. However it maybe exactly what that person needs to hear in order to straighten out their lives!. So go ahead and feel awkward for a few moments, because if you do positively impact their lives by bringing the word to them it completely makes any self sacrifice worth it!.Www@Enter-QA@Com
